Angelo Po at Manchester City F.C.
When John Benson-Smith, the consultant executive chef to Manchester City Football Club and the City of Manchester Stadium wanted a new kitchen for the Boardroom Suite and the chairman, he asked Caterware for their expertise in installing a top-of-the-line professional kitchen.
The Boardroom Suite at the City of Manchester Stadium is the premier hospitality and banqueting venue at the stadium which regularly hosts functions as well as match day events. Chefs at the stadium prepare fine dining for up to 270 seated guests or canapés and buffet receptions for up to 450. The requirement was a kitchen that could produce the highest possible standard of cuisine to include the chairman's private guests.
Caterware recommended using modular units from Angelo Po which would provide the quality necessary to produce dishes of the highest quality and the flexibility to choose cooking equipment which would enable chefs to cook any possible international menu permutations.
First we installed an Omega island suite, including a solid–top gas range, a bain-marie, two burner boiling tops and four burner pass-through ovens that can be used from both sides. We also installed an Alpha 900 heavy-duty suite. The Alpha has a 2mm top which is incredibly tough and both prime cooking suites will stand the test of time in this busy kitchen.
Complimenting the main island and the Alpha suite, Caterware also installed a number of Angelo Po Combistar combinations ovens including 20 grid roll-in ovens and 10 grid
units which combined make this kitchen truly exceptional and provide a plated banqueting facility as and when required.
To finish off the kitchen, we installed countering by Moffat, Angelo Po refrigeration equipment provided bespoke fabrication, extraction with fire suppression system.
Manchester City Football Club now has another truly world class banqueting facility producing food at the very "top of the table" and providing a great result everytime. We are now working with the club on other projects within the stadium refurbishment programme.
